Timsbury 160-9  Claverham 161-8

Timsbury opted to bat on a sound track and they made a solid start with an opening partnership of 33 which was halted when Nigel Cheesewright claimed the first of his three wickets. With Keith Miles and Atul also bowling tightly, nine overs for just 26 runs, the stage was set for the wily Rich Coombes, and he duly obliged with a match winning 5 for 27, his best ever return for the Senior side.

Claverham's hard working attack was well supported by some top quality out cricket, Adrian Coombes, in particular, illuminating the afternoon with his brilliant ground fielding as Timsbury closed at 160-9.

Claverham wasted no time in getting on top of the Timsbury attack after tea, with Paul Bird and Atul, 18, smashing 30 from the first three overs, but once the opening pair were parted the middle order withered away with no one able to offer much in the way of support for the excellent Bird, who went on to make an invaluable 47. Fortunately the all-rounders saved the day with Mark Francis batting serenely for 27, while Cheeswright 13 and skipper Hooper, 9 not out, joined forces to see the Henley Lane outfit home.
