Claverham 176-9 beat Nailsea 147 by 29runs

After appearing destined to emerge with about as many points as those gathered by Jemini, Claverham staged a dramatic fight back to snatch victory at the end of this fiercely competitive local derby.

Having been inserted by the home side Claverham  found it hard going against Robinson and Hardcastle and though Paul Bird, Atul Gadre and Roger Jack came up with 25 runs apiece the innings looked to be going nowhere until the enigmatic Keith Miles made his way to the middle. In his customary totally uncompromising fashion Keith lashed 51 runs from just 21 deliveries to totally alter the complexion of the game.

The final total was always going to be competitive and Nailsea duly struggled against the pace of Bird, 3 for 20, and the stealthy Scott Perry. Atul, 2 for 41, and the rapidly emerging Rich Coombes, 3 for 23 completed the job and with two sharp run outs rewarding their top quality out cricket Claverham made it two wins from two matches whilst the home side were left to ponder on how this one got away.
